Effective decision-making

We make dozens of decisions every day and often become stuck in doubt. This course helps you understand how you make decisions, explore rational and intuitive approaches, and develop your own strategy.

  • Understand what guides your decisions
  • Explore decision-making theory and its key stages
  • Combine rational thinking with intuition

About the course

Decision-making is central to management and everyday life, as Herbert Simon explored. This course examines both sides: the rational choice model from microeconomics, with five stages from defining the problem to choosing the best strategy, and the irrational aspects of thinking illustrated by Daniel Kahneman's experiments and the famous Linda problem. A separate section explores emotional intelligence and intuition: how the unconscious influences choices and how to listen to it. The course ends with practical work and a final assessment.
