About the method
Eric Berne developed transactional analysis, or TA. It is a psychological model expressed in unusually accessible language, helping us understand both ourselves and our interactions with others. Originating in psychoanalysis, TA developed into a broader approach accessible to everyone.
At its core is the idea that, in any situation, a person acts from one of three distinct ego states. By noticing the state from which we speak and act, we begin to trust ourselves, think independently and express our feelings openly.
What it can help with
- understanding recurring relationship patterns;
- difficulties communicating at home, at work or with loved ones;
- asserting yourself without conflict;
- conscious, independent decisions.
How it works
We discuss real situations in accessible language, without complicated terminology. TA principles readily apply at work, at home and wherever people interact.
