Gestalt therapy

An existential therapy approach focused on increasing awareness and completing experiences that remain unresolved within us.

About the method

Gestalt therapy is a contemporary approach within existential psychotherapy. Its main aim is to increase awareness, helping restore a sense of wholeness, a fuller and more meaningful life, and authentic contact with other people.

Without noticing, we often become fixated on one grievance, anxiety or memory, living through experiences that feel lifeless yet tenacious instead of engaging fully with life. Psychologists describe this as unfinished business: like an old splinter, it keeps making itself felt through headaches, tension or irritability. Treating symptoms alone misses the point; the splinter needs to be removed gently.

What it can help with

  • unresolved hurt, suppressed feelings and unfinished situations;
  • losing touch with yourself and your wishes;
  • difficulties with closeness and relationships;
  • psychosomatic concerns and chronic tension.

How it works

We pay attention to what is happening here and now, gently returning to what remains unexpressed. As a Gestalt therapist, I work alongside you, at your pace and without judgement.
