About the method
Emotional imagery therapy, or EIT, is a contemporary psychodynamic method in which feelings take visible form. When a state is difficult to explain in words, I invite you to picture an image of it. Working with that image gives us access to experiences that usually remain outside awareness.
I use EIT when a problem involves persistent, stuck emotional states. An image that arises spontaneously during the process provides a key: by gently changing it, we also change the experience itself.
What it can help with
- chronic anxiety, resentment, guilt, shame and other difficult states;
- psychosomatic concerns: physical responses to unresolved emotions;
- inner conflicts and recurring patterns;
- emotional consequences of difficult situations.
How it works
We work at a calm, safe pace. I help you find an image that represents your experience, explore it and gently transform it, so that you can begin to feel changes during the session. There is no pressure: you move at a pace that feels comfortable for you.
