Virtual leader
A fresh perspective on leadership that considers the nuances of managing a team remotely.
- assessing the pitfalls of remote management and communication
- build trust in a distributed team
- managing employee productivity remotely
About the practice tool
A leader becomes virtual when managing a team remotely. This brings particular challenges: no direct manager–employee contact, and greater difficulty monitoring work and sustaining effectiveness.
This practice tool explores the key priorities of virtual leadership: communication, building trust within a team and managing productivity, with guidance on leadership psychology and relevant software. It simulates a workplace situation in which you make management decisions, with risks and recommendations explained for each choice.
