About the method
Sigmund Freud developed psychoanalysis around the turn of the twentieth century. Adler and Jung, followed by Fromm, Horney, Lacan and others, later expanded it. It rests on the idea that unconscious, often irrational drives shape much of our behaviour, experiences and decisions, while efforts to understand them encounter inner resistance and psychological defences.
Events in early childhood also play an important role. Conflicts between what we are aware of and what has been repressed can appear as anxiety, low mood or neurotic traits. Relief comes through awareness, with sensitive professional support.
What it can help with
- recurring difficulties with unclear roots;
- anxiety, low mood and inner conflicts;
- confusing or uncomfortable reactions and states;
- a wish to understand yourself and your history more deeply.
How it works
You speak freely about whatever comes to mind: thoughts, associations and dreams. I help you notice the hidden connections and explore them sensitively. This is gradual but profound work that can lead to lasting change.
